AMSTEC is a coalition of industry, education, policy partners seeking to enhance STEM Education in Alabama.

Vison
Alabama will be a pace-setting state in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. for all PK-20 students.
Mission
The mission of AMSTEC is to improve STEM education in the state of Alabama through the facilitation of advocacy, communication, and collaboration among education, business, and public policy organizations.

GOALS
Professional Development
To facilitate, broker, and advocate the implementation of professional development for teachers/faculty (PK-20) and other staff within a unified, systemic framework.
Adequate Supply of Teachers
To facilitate, broker, and advocate the implementation of post-secondary curricula to provide the level of teacher competency needed by Alabama to assure increased performance and knowledge on the part of our PK-20 students in STEM.
Statewide Infrastructure
To facilitate, broker, and advocate the development of statewide infrastructure that will assure the consistent and standard development, dissemination, and implementation of Alabama standards for courses of study in STEM.
Application of Technology
To facilitate, broker, and advocate the increased availability of technology and staff development for its effective use.
K-20 and Workforce Preparation Emphasis
To facilitate, broker, and advocate the development of a coherent strategy to move Alabama from its current situation to a National leader by providing preparation with rigorous and relevant instruction in the manner in which individual students learn most readily.
